In August 2007 both my dad, Keith Kennedy, and I were selected as artists-in-residence at Necedah National Wildlife Refuge, the first NWR to establish such a program. For two weeks we were granted access to almost the whole of the refuge, which is home to Whooping cranes and Operation Migration that teaches young Whoopers to follow ultralight aircraft to Florida to learn their migratory route.
